At StandardAero, we're dedicated to solving the aviation industry's most complex challenges with ingenuity, quality, and expertise. StandardAero Augusta is a Business Aviation MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul) facility, specialized to support an extensive range of aircraft models, including renowned brands such as Falcon, Hawker, Challenger, Gulfstream, and Embraer. With a significant 80,500 sq ft expansion opening in August 2025, we're doubling our footprint at AGS. Our facility focuses on 22 models of aircraft on the Airframe side, while our Engine Shop performs comprehensive overhauls on Honeywell turbofan engines and performs diagnostics in our state-of-the-art test cells.

This Aircraft Structural Mechanic will perform internal/external sheet metal repairs, modifications, and installations on the wide variety of aircraft serviced at our facility. They will utilize their expert craftsmanship to fabricate components (I-beams, doublers, triplers, stringers) by interpreting blueprints, following manuals, and replicating existing structures. This individual will calculate angles, diameters, and bend allowances, to cut, shape, and form airframe parts.

What to expect in this role:



  • Perform structural aircraft repairs using appropriate sheet metal techniques and fasteners.
  • Remove, replace, and relocate headers, stringers, doors, beams, and bulkheads while building up surfaces and structures to specifications.
  • Plan and develop schemes for sheet metal repairs and modifications by utilizing blueprints, sketches, service bulletins, OEM specifications, engineering orders, and other technical publications.
  • Use precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and protractors, to accomplish repairs or modifications.
  • Document all work accomplished in a clear, concise, and accurate manner.


Basic Qualifications:



  • A minimum of three (3) years sheet metal fabrication experience required.
  • Prior experience working in the capacity of an Airframe Sheet Metal Specialist, Aircraft Structural Technician or Aircraft Mechanic.
  • Experience building I-beams, doublers, stringers, avionics trays, and performing corrosion control.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Previous experience building bespoke structures, trays and/or mounts of all sizes and applications.
  • A valid FAA Airframe License.
  • Experience working alongside A&P Mechanics and Avionics Technicians performing heavy maintenance
  • Corporate / Business Aviation or MRO experience.
