Join Haskell's Advisory Services Team as a Healthcare Planner! In this role, you will support Haskell's mission by developing functional space programs and architectural test-fits for volume studies supporting long-term and operational strategies for clients. Working collaboratively with Haskell's fully integrated architectural, engineering, and construction teams, this candidate develops options and decision-support materials for clients' prioritization of capital and space resources.

In this role, you will create site and facility design, planning, and programming with a thorough understanding of strategic, functional, and operational requirements of various hospital-based and ambulatory service lines. This is a "seller / doer" and "thought leader" position where you will work with clients and client executives in decision-making and problem-solving.

Your responsibilities will include:

    Analyze and interpret facility data to provide advice to healthcare clients on how to solve problems, create value, improve growth, and maximize business efficiency

  • Provide leadership, oversight, and content expertise in strategic, master, and functional space planning on healthcare projects, focusing on Facility Programming and Master Planning, through Schematic Design and Design Development phases

  • Maintain strong working relationships with clients, leveraging excellent verbal, visual, and written communication skills to prepare presentations and lead discussions from hospital leadership to clinical user group meetings

  • Develop floor plan concepts that respond to clinical operations, industry trends, technology development, and strategic initiatives

  • Demonstrate proficiency in clinical understanding across major inpatient and outpatient departments and service lines, guiding discussions on operations, benchmarking, key planning units, and modalities, as well as outlining process flows and critical adjacencies of clinical rooms

  • Draw findings and communicate takeaways to clients to bring conclusion and direction to a project at each stage of the process

  • Guide project messaging and drive the engagement toward the appropriate recommendation and/or implementation

  • Travel requirements could involve 2-3 nights/week depending on project and candidate locations.

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant undergraduate or graduate degree in architecture with 3-5 years of work experience in a similar role

  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in a consulting or architectural design role

  • Architectural licensure is required in a minimum of one state (may be obtained as a part of employment)

  • LEED, WELL Building, ACHA, and EDAC certification desirable

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or Sketch-Up, with preferred experience in Revit

  • Demonstrate extensive understanding of health design complexity, and familiarity with health facility planning, design guidelines, and codes.

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
