Functional area: IT / Digital; Innovation / R&D Remuneration: Exempt In your role as Senior Manager, IT/OT Digital Solutions - Engineering & Operations Embedded, you will lead the team responsible for IT solutions enabling RWE Clean Energy's Engineering and Operations business areas. This includes the development and operations of RWE Clean Energy's in-house, IT-developed products and management of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications. You will serve as the domain solution architect, actively collaborate with business stakeholders, and partner with technologists to define and implement the go-forward tech strategy for Engineering & Operations. You will do this by leading a team of technical experts to develop products and manage applications using Agile practices and enhancing interdisciplinary collaboration across different teams. Role Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop RWE Clean Energy's Engineering & Operations Embedded team under Digital Solutions, driving the development and operations of RWE Clean Energy's in-house, IT-developed products and management of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications
- Serve as the domain solution architect, actively collaborate with business stakeholders, and partner with technologists to define and implement the go-forward tech strategy for Engineering & Operations
- Lead a team of technical experts to develop products and manage applications relevant for Engineering & Operations using Agile practices
- Take on specific technical roles during Agile sprints that contribute to the technical development of product application roadmaps for Engineering & Operations
- Enhance interdisciplinary collaboration across different teams including business stakeholders, other RWE IT/OT departments, and the RWE Group, fostering iterative delivery and continuous feedback
- Actively collaborate with external partners for application development and operations, both for in-house-developed products as well as commercial off-the-shelf solutions in RWE Clean Energy's Engineering and Operations business areas
- Drive transition to DevOps methodologies while applying management best practices for commercial off-the-shelf applications
- Systematically reduce technical debt within existing product portfolio and insource business-managed IT
- Ensure highest availability, reliability and compliance with regulations and cyber security standards for product and application suites within RWE Clean Energy, and establish associated Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to measure SLA adherence
- Support the modernization and optimization of RWE Clean Energy's product portfolio to avoid product and capability redundancies while leveraging state-of-the-art technologies
Job Requirements and Experiences:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field of study
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field of study (or equivalent) preferred
- Additional applicable certifications (Certified Scrum Master, SAFe, CSDP) are a strong plus
- Minimum 12 years of experience (minimum 8 years experiencewith a master's degree) in IT solutions and digital innovation with experience in a leadership role
- Experience in managing platform solutions and products, ensuring operational excellence, availability and reliability for big tech / large-scale energy / utility companies
- Experience in business process modelling required to engineer and operate renewable energy projects and associated technology solutions
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure) and operating models, DevOps practices and agile methodologies across SDLC
- Demonstrated experience in implementing agile frameworks at scale within IT organizations
- Extensive technical expertise of SDLC including different / hybrid development framework, software development trends, and developer efficiency
- Excellent communications, stakeholder management and leadership skills
- Experience in managing cross-functional teams and delivering complex projects with internal and external partners
- This position is an office-based role with some travel and visits to other RWECE office and field locations
- Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time
Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in New York and Chicago is $128,000 - $190,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations.
