Job Description: Position Overview Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, the Associate Manager, Accounts Payable will oversee day-to-day operations in a high-volume environment while also driving operational efficiency, resolving escalations, and enhancing processes within the AP function. Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day AP operations, ensuring timely and accurate invoice and payment processing in a high-volume environment Lead and support the AP team, including workload planning, goal setting, performance feedback, and training Ensure compliance with company policies for employee expenses and corporate card usage; resolve related issues Validate and approve payments in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Basware, Workday); monitor for duplicates and ensure financial accuracy Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies and maintain strong relationships Manage weekly payment runs (Wire, EFT/ACH, V-Card, Cheque); support Treasury on cash management Ensure compliance with tax regulations and support annual filings (1099, 1042-S). Contribute to month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and reduce risk Maintain SOPs and training materials; support audits and ensure adherence to SOx and internal controls
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable with exposure to high-volume processing environments Experience with AP systems and ERP platforms such as Basware, NetSuite, or Workday Strong understanding of financial controls, compliance, and audit processes Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with cross-functional teams and external vendors Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency
