Job Description:

Position Overview

Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, the Associate Manager, Accounts Payable will oversee day-to-day operations in a high-volume environment while also driving operational efficiency, resolving escalations, and enhancing processes within the AP function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day AP operations, ensuring timely and accurate invoice and payment processing in a high-volume environment

  • Lead and support the AP team, including workload planning, goal setting, performance feedback, and training

  • Ensure compliance with company policies for employee expenses and corporate card usage; resolve related issues

  • Validate and approve payments in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Basware, Workday); monitor for duplicates and ensure financial accuracy

  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies and maintain strong relationships

  • Manage weekly payment runs (Wire, EFT/ACH, V-Card, Cheque); support Treasury on cash management

  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and support annual filings (1099, 1042-S).

  • Contribute to month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting

  • Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and reduce risk

  • Maintain SOPs and training materials; support audits and ensure adherence to SOx and internal controls

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable with exposure to high-volume processing environments

  • Experience with AP systems and ERP platforms such as Basware, NetSuite, or Workday

  • Strong understanding of financial controls, compliance, and audit processes

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with cross-functional teams and external vendors

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency
