JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Berks is seeking applicants for the position of a Case Manager & Academic Support Coordinator. This position will report to the Director of Student Affairs. The Case Manager & Academic Support Coordinator is a divisional leader who will serve as the primary campus case manager (non-clinical) for students with behavioral and academic support needs. In collaboration with the Student Success Center and Academic Support Units, the Case Manager & Academic Support Coordinator will develop strategies to assist academically at-risk students in recovering and/or assist students in designing success plans to advance retention, persistence, and on-time graduation goals.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to supporting students in distress, diversity, equity, and inclusion; the ability to work independently with minimal supervision across multiple units with multiple policies; and collaborate with campus faculty and staff, students, families, and health providers. This role will serve as the primary point of contact to respond to students in distress through interventions, referrals, and connections to follow-up services.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Chair the campus CARE Team, create an agenda, and ensure a timely, documented response.

  • Serve as the case manager (non-clinical) for Penn State Berks students who experience emerging or chronic situations that may compromise their ability to be successful, behaviorally or academically.

  • Oversee student emergency funds and determine appropriate approvals/allocations.

  • Work with the Student Success Center/Academic Affairs/Academic Advising units to assist with developing academic recovery/academic success plans and meeting one-on-one with students who are struggling with their academics to develop plans to set them on a more successful path.

  • Serve in an on-call rotation with other student affairs staff who are tasked to respond to student-related issues during and after hours, on weekends, and/or over holiday periods.

  • Offer general outreach and/or appropriate referral to students who've been referred for follow-up related to a behavioral or academic concern.

Education:

  • Minimum Education: Master's Degree

  • Minimum Experience: 6+ years of relevant experience

  • Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience is accepted

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$56,200.00 - $81,500.00
