Housekeeping Clerk

Are you a person who has hotel housekeeping experience and understands how the coordination of timely delivery of outstanding housekeeping service is to meeting and exceeding our guest needs? The Housekeeping Clerk ensures accuracy of schedules. Answers incoming departmental calls in regards to team members and guest's needs and dispatches requests using two-way radio, telephone, and the maintenance management system to create and track work orders. Ensures proper recording and follow up of all guest requests. Is a great communicator both written and verbally with all levels of team members and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.

Work Hours: Team Members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. The Housekeeping Department operates 7 days per week, so the Housekeeping Clerk must have open availability to cover varying shifts.

Language Skills:



  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external guests.


  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language sufficient to communicate with team members, staff and guests and perform all essential job functions.
  • Must have excellent telephone etiquette skills.


Computer



  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).


  • Use and maintain the work order system and/or property management system to include, but not limited to, logging and recording all service requests, initiating, dispatching and closing all work orders and generating associated reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.



  • Answer all incoming telephone calls, assisting in responding to guest and team member inquiries and dispatching appropriate service in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
  • Assisting in determining daily housekeeping service needs and confirm an adequate number of team members are scheduled to perform work, assisting the Director of Housekeeping with any call-offs.
  • Perform key inventory distribution and return and maintain accuracy of Key sign in/ sign out log.
  • Assists in maintaining and communicating accurate guest room status to the Front Office team members.
  • Assists in creating, dispatching, and completing work orders in the Company's facilities management system.
  • Ability to effectively deal with employee questions in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of the question (ex. Supplies, guest room assignments, etc.), demonstrating empathy with the guest and providing positive and proactive solutions. Refers all other concerns to Housekeeping Director or Housekeeping Manager.
  • Assists with responding to emergency calls and monitoring the alarm system
  • Coordinate office traffic.
  • Perform additional general office duties including, but not limited to, processing paperwork (including reports related to suite occupancy), assisting with incentive programs and tracking guest comments and feedback, as needed
  • Log daily Lost and Found items. Assist with responding to inquiries and prepares and makes arrangements to return Lost and Found items through on-site pick-up, by designated carrier.
  • Perform related guestroom cleaning duties as needed.


  • Completes all required Company trainings and compliance courses as assigned.
  • Adheres to Company and local standards and maintains compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Guest Room Attendant
Do you have a joy for diligently cleaning and preparing a neat environment for our visitors? Our Guest Room Attendants are filled with the Aloha Spirit and a keen eye for detail! Our Guest Room Attendants are responsible for cleaning and preparing and providing our guests with clean and appealing guest rooms and hallways. Flexible scheduling availability is a must.

Some responsibilities include:



  • Ability to clean 14 guest rooms to hotel standards.
  • Performs cleaning duties to brand and hotel standards in all guest areas and back of house.
  • Consistently offers professional, friendly, and engaging service.
  • Responds timely to guests' special requests for miscellaneous items like cribs, cots, extra towels, etc.
  • Reports necessary maintenance items.
  • Follows departmental policies and procedures.
  • Follows all safety and sanitation policies
  • Detail oriented - Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well
  • Assists other departments when needed to ensure optimum service to guests.
  • Performs additional duties as needed.


Experience:



  • 1 year: Professional Cleaning experience desired, preferably in hotels
  • Relevant military experience in a comparable capacity.


Education: High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
