Perform transfer of coil load bars through the TCP process and from the Tank 1 staging area through the cleaning, rinse, e-coat, and post rinse tanks working in conjunction with instructions from Process Technician/Rectifier operator. Must complete production documentation through the coating process. Ensure load bars are ready for processing through the tanks to minimize non-productive time in the e-coat tank. Advise production supervision when backlog of load bars to be washed may result in non-productive e-coat tank occasions. Ability to detect leaky coils and coil damage (hairpin/u-bend dents, fin damage, etc.) as processing load bars through the clean and rinse tanks. Advise production supervision and QC of problems prior to e-coat. Responsible for safe crane operation including proper working order of safety equipment, being alert to personnel in the lift areas, and care in handling load bars so as not to damage product or equipment. Ability to assist in dump and re-fill of process tanks 1, 2, and 3. This position also serves as back up Rectifier operator, requiring operation of the rectifier, Database computer, updating production documentation including the daily schedule, microchannel schedules, and TCP log. Perform proper start up of the crane line process tanks at the start of a day and/or proper shut down at the end of the day. Responsibilities also may include starting up process tanks on weekends or holidays to prepare for production the following morning, including proper completion of the off hours plant check sheet.
