LFS, Inc. was established in 1967 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Trident Seafoods. Our corporate headquarters is in Bellingham, WA and we have three year-round locations in Washington State: Bellingham, Seattle, and Poulsbo. LFS also has five year-round locations in Alaska: Anchorage, Cordova, Dutch Harbor, Homer (Kachemak Gear Shed), and Sitka; and three seasonal locations in Kenai, Dillingham and Naknek. While our core business is supplying the commercial fishing industry, we have evolved to include industrial and sports netting sales, hydraulic sales and services, wholesale/industrial sales, recreational marine and outdoor sales, and internet sales.

Summary:

The primary objective of the Assistant Sales Manager is to assist the Sales Manager. The Assistant Sales Manager will function as a vital link between their location and the Corporate Office, Sales, Inventory, Purchasing and Distribution teams.

Essential functions (responsibilities, tasks, supervisory needs)

  • Train and supervise the front counter sales team.
  • Create schedules for the front counter sales team.
  • Help recruit and select team members
  • Store Merchandising
  • Labelling product on the sales floor
  • Receiving transfer shipments from distribution
  • Request transfers from distribution when stock is low.
  • Work with the Division Manager, Yard Foreman, Production Foreman, and Hydraulics salesperson to keep the operation running smoothly.
  • Retail and Commercial sales to customers
  • Works with office clerks to coordinate and document boat hauls and launches.
Minimum Requirements

Required Qualifications (education, years of experience, KSAs)

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in leadership role, with proven success in managing a team.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, Fisheries management, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage teams, prioritize tasks, and deliver results under tight deadlines.

Preferred education and experience

  • Strong understanding of Alaska Commercial Fishing rules and regulations.
  • Has experience working in remote bunk house style settings.
  • Adept at managing multiple projects and deadlines without compromising quality.

Work environment: Busy sales floor, loud warehouse, hectic office work environment. Can occasionally be exposed to the elements. Rain, wind, snow, and possible icy conditions.

Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand and use a keyboard and telephone.

The employee is required to talk or listen.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
