Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Applications Engineer to join our security business unit.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Onsite System Support & Optimization

    • Serve as the dedicated applications engineer supporting all security system platforms deployed at the client site.
    • Proactively monitor and maintain SQL Always On Availability Groups and Windows Failover Clustering to ensure system redundancy and uptime.
    • Administer, troubleshoot, and optimize Honeywell ProWatch, Milestone, and Avigilon environments.
    • Coordinate with the client's IT and security stakeholders to align system performance with operational expectations.


  • Incident Response & Root Cause Analysis

    • Provide Tier 3 support for application-level issues.
    • Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions.
    • Maintain system logs and audit trails for compliance and forensic review.


  • Maintenance & Lifecycle Management

    • Plan and implement system patches, firmware updates, and version upgrades in a controlled and documented manner.
    • Ensure data integrity through regular backup testing and recovery simulations.


  • Documentation & Reporting

    • Maintain accurate and detailed system documentation, network diagrams, and SOPs specific to the client's environment.
    • Generate and deliver recurring operational status reports, including uptime statistics, incident summaries, and improvement plans.


  • Customer Relationship & Technical Guidance

    • Act as a trusted technical advisor for the client's physical security systems.
    • Participate in strategy sessions, change advisory boards, and roadmap planning for future enhancements.
    • Provide technical training and documentation to client personnel as needed.




Basic Qualifications:



  • High school diploma
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in applications or systems engineering within electronic security or enterprise IT environments.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with:

    • SQL Server Always On and Windows Failover Clustering
    • Honeywell ProWatch access control
    • Milestone XProtect and Avigilon Control Center


  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration, Active Directory integration, and security hardening practices.
  • Familiarity with VLANs, network segmentation, and secure remote connectivity for physical security platforms.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a customer-facing environment.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Honeywell ProWatch Certified Technician
  • Milestone Certified Integration Technician (MCIT)
  • Avigilon Certified Solutions Specialist
  • Microsoft or CompTIA certifications in server or network administration
