Full-time, 40 Hours/week M-F Days, 7:30AM-4PMOnsite Akron, OH$2,000 Sign on bonus available (taxable) Summary:The Home Care Pharmacy Technician position resides within the Pharmacy Department and supports the Home Care pharmacy by assisting the pharmacists with preparation of medication in addition to their role in coordinating pharmacy services provided to factor patients through the Hemophilia Treatment Center (HTC). The responsibilities of this position include, completing necessary third-party prior authorization requests, recorded keeping ensuring compliance with the HTC factor patients and hemophilia alliance, inventory management within the homecare pharmacy and maximizing efficiency for patients and clinic staff. Other areas of responsibility include general operational support within the home care pharmacy.Responsibilities:1.Provide medication access and affordability servicesfor patients.2.Demonstrate proficiency and skill with pharmacy and health system information systems.3. Demonstrate the ability to document in the electronic medical record as appropriate.4.Ensure timely and accurate documentation related to services provided toproviders, clinic staff and patients/families.5. Preform general home care operational duties.6. Prepare patient prescriptions under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.7. Maintains adequate medication inventory levels for patient care including removing outdates and recalled medications from inventory.8.Effectively communicate withotherpharmacy team members, physicians, nurses and patients/families.9.Resolve routine medication-related issues and ensure medication transactions are processed accurately and appropriately.10. Assist the pharmacist in filling and shipping of medications to ensure stability of medication during shipment.11. Assist in the maintenance of pharmacy accreditation.12. Assist in appropriate documentation & recordkeeping to maintain applicable program compliance.13. Adheres to all applicable policies and state and federal laws and guidelines.14. Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor or pharmacistregarding medication accessand other patient care needs.Other information:Technical Expertise1. Prior experience as an outpatient pharmacy technician is preferred.2. Clinical knowledge of specialty pharmacy disease states is preferred.Licensure1. Ohio Board of Pharmacy Certified Technician License required.2.Certification: Registration as a National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or equivalent required).Education and Experience1.High Schooldiploma or equivalent combination of education (GED).2.Years of relevant experience: 3 to 5 years is preferred.3.Years of experience supervising: none.Full TimeFTE: 1.000000
