Job Summary |
Supervises the Student Access Services Clerks, including their hiring, training, and scheduling. Manages all aspects of Course Reserves and assists with the Textbook Collection. Performs all circulation functions using current library management technologies. Models behavior that encourages a welcoming, efficient and effective experience for those wishing to use the library and its resources. Oversees the library social media accounts. |
Salary Range |
$20.00 - $21.00. This is the expected hourly range for this position. The hourly range offered will depend on a candidate's experience and education, and departmental budget. |
Essential Functions |
- Supervises the Student Access Services Clerks, including their hiring, training, and scheduling.
- Manages the Course Reserve collection, including serving as point of contact for faculty, and editing catalog records to ensure that the collection is kept current.
- Provides a high level of customer service for those wishing to use the library and its resources.
- Oversees the library social media accounts to ensure that the content is current, appropriate, and accurate.
- Assists with all circulation functions, including material check-in and check-out, and study room reservations.
- Writes and maintains relevant procedures for the position.
- Acts as a back-up for the interlibrary loan team, including preparing items for transit between libraries or shipment through the mail.
- Maintains an awareness of current copyright law and uses that knowledge to evaluate interlibrary loan and Course Reserve requests.
- Collaborates with the Access Services team to process items being added to a collection once they have been cataloged, and to withdraw items weeded from a collection.
- Assists with Reference functions as assigned.
- Troubleshoots technology issues when needed.
- Acts as a back-up for ordering supplies.
- Opens and closes the library when needed.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree, LTA, or demonstrated equivalent.
- At least three years of work experience in a customer service environment.
- Supervisory experience.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Must be able to exercise initiative and work independently.
- Must have a strong attention to detail.
- Must be able to perform work with a high level of accuracy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Comfortable using various forms of technology.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements |
Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 40 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move object. Work may include bending, reaching, and twisting. |
Work Hours |
Regular Spring and Fall Semester Hours: Tuesday - Saturday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Interim Hours (when closed on Saturdays): Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
