EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required



  • Education
    Registered Nurse Education


  • Licenses and Certifications
    (CCE/CBE) Certified Childbirth Educator Current State of Texas license or Current Certification in Childbirth Education CPR every two (2) years before expires. or
    (CPRAED) CPR AED Current State of Texas license or Current Certification in Childbirth Education CPR every two (2) years before expires. and
    (BLS) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).


Preferred



  • Experience
    1 year 1-2 years of mother and baby, Labor and Delivery experience or childbirth education experience is required.


JOB DUTIES



  • Develops course content. Plans, teaches, and evaluates parent education classes. Adjusts class to accommodate needs of group.
  • Takes responsibility for being on time for classes and assists clients with questions relevant to class experience and upcoming delivery.
  • Assembles equipment and materials needed and returns to storage when class is over. Keeps area neat and organized.
  • Turns in client evaluations after every class.
  • Maintains client satisfaction with class at high level. Seeks assistance with any educational issues or needs.
  • Takes responsibility for maintaining her education and documenting. Keeps up with newest trends in childbirth and available options for clients.
  • Completes required modules, attends childbirth educator meetings and incorporates new material.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
