Kidney Dialysis Technician - Hemodialysis

*This role is scheduled from 5:30am-4:00pm*

Under the supervision of the Manager, Renal Services and IV Therapy, Clinical Coordinator, or staff nurse, the Kidney Dialysis Technician performs various duties to assist in the treatment and care of ESRD patients. They are responsible to provide support and assistance to the medical and nursing staff to assure a coordinated patient experience.

Duties may include, but are not limited to the follow:

• Obtaining supplies and equipment necessary before, during and after a dialysis procedure
• Assisting with patient care under the direct supervision of an RN
• Aiding the facilitation of station turnover
• Providing assistance with a variety of therapeutic interventions
• Participating in the dialysis care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
• Cleaning, stocking, and organizing the dialysis treatment area and all support areas.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school graduate.
• Previous patient care experience required; prior renal/dialysis experience preferred.
• AHA-BLS certification is required; however, certification is not a qualifying factor to obtain the position. Certification can be obtained within the organization.
• As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided.
