Summary of Position Perform ground and flight activities related to production flight ATPs. Perform preflight inspections of aircraft. Perform minor adjustments on aircraft for track and balance and engine rigging while on the flight line. Set up aircraft test equipment and weights to achieve required configurations for testing. Perform weight and balance calculations for different flight configurations to facilitate flight ATPs. Evaluate and suggest trouble shooting to resolve Avionic and Mechanical issues. Interpret and evaluate Hums and RTB data. Enter flight records and flight hours on Aircraft logbook. Responsible for Flight acceptance of the aircraft. Develop and administer OJT and re-occurring training of flight line staff as needed in regards to ground and flight testing. Interact with CPE, DO, and PE for new flight and ground ATPs implementation and evaluation of data. Interact with customer for flight data evaluation, assist with customer acceptance ground runs and flights as required during acceptance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties and Responsibilities: * Perform flight and ground ATPs. * Evaluate and Interpret flight data. * Maintain flight records. * Coordinate flight activities with pilots. * Perform minor maintenance such as track and balance adjustments and engine rigging adjustments. * Aircraft flight acceptance * Interact with DO and PE for new testing * Perform preflight and FOD inspections. Qualifications for Position: Education * Military or civil aviation flight line work, production or part 145 preferred. Experience * Minimum 5 years aviation experience required. 10 years or more preferred. Flight test experience preferred. Flight line troubleshooting preferred. Competencies & Attributes * Strong understanding of aviation technology. * Strong written and oral communication skills. * Ability to fly in aircraft as part of a flight crew with multiple groups. * Ability to learn multiple airframes, including passing all required maintenance courses, and perform testing within production schedules. * Abilities to learn and develop new procedures in coordination with engineering. * Must be available to work overtime, specifically daylight hours and weekends to meet production schedule goals. Candidate must be able to swim and pass aircraft water survival training class. Licensure/Certification * Must be able to pass and maintain a FAA class 2 flight physical. * FCC preferred but not required. * A & P preferred but not required.
