Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Emergency Department (ED)

Inova Fair Oaks is looking for a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse to join the Emergency Department. This role will be full-time mid-shift from Monday - Friday 10:45 am - 11:30 pm, with a rotating weekend. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance available for qualified candidates.

An Inova Licensed Practical Nurse:

• Provides direct patient care utilizing the nursing process under the supervision of a registered professional nurse, an advanced practice provider, or licensed physician.
• Conduct all patient care in a patient and family-centered manner.
• Use an integrated approach toward patient outcomes.
• Utilize standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery.

Responsibilities include:

• Collaborates with materials management to ensure appropriate stock and minimize outdated stock.
• Administers prescribed medications, therapies, and treatments.
• Assists with patient education and discharge planning.
• Demonstrates correct stabilization and immobilization of spine.
• Collects patient specimens following department/facility policies and procedures.
• Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies to optimize delivery of patient care and treatment.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited LPN school
• One year of ED LPN experience preferred
• Eligible for licensing in the commonwealth of Virginia as an LPN
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
