POSITION SPECIFICS

The Office of Physical Plant's Facilities Applications team is seeking a Senior Supervisor for Enterprise Asset Management (EAM): Maximo Facilities Systems. This role will provide leadership and oversight for the team while managing the functional support and administrative operations of key work management systems. These systems include the Office of Physical Plant's EAM platform (Maximo), scheduling software (Akwire/Prometheus), and mobile solutions (EZMaxMobile).

The successful candidate will report to the Director of Operational Technology. This is a full-time position and may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The Facilities Applications team is supportive of flexible work arrangements when aligned with the ability to meet the needs of the unit and the essential duties of the position. In this role, you will work in a collaborative and challenging environment alongside both technical and business-centric users. You will help drive the development and implementation of new functionality as well as support existing processes. The ideal candidate will be an experienced leader and bring strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, excellent communication, and successful continuous improvement of the Maximo and related systems. You will be responsible for tracking functionality changes, investigating future capabilities, leading the development of feature specifications, overseeing testing, managing incidents, providing training, and contributing to cross-functional efforts. This role will provide an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on theentire Penn State University community and commonwealth campuses.

The successful supervisor will:

  • Supervise direct reports/staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management

  • Evaluates the work of others to verify accuracy, quality, and adherence to professional criteria

  • Build lasting relationships with vendors and all partners we rely on to assist us in getting initiatives completed

  • Ensure the system is stable and functional for the user community

  • Work closely with internal and external customers and business partners to provide guidance and recommend solutions that will enable the organization to achieve its goals while ensuring the integrity of the applications and data processes per industry best practices

  • Provide application support and act as a key team member for the Enterprise Asset Management system and supporting systems for functional users to ensure the integrity of the application and data

  • Interpret business issues or needs and recommend solutions along with best practices that leverage application functionality to meet business needs

  • Manage staff members' work items and ensure timely delivery of tasks, project components, and expected deliverables

  • Assist in maintaining and tracking budget details

  • Applies specialized knowledge and skills to resolve problems

  • Track tasks and project initiatives, including development, training, testing, and go-live activities

  • Partner with UP and commonwealth campus facilities personnel and the use of our applications

Competencies critical to success include understanding the use and need for Maximo, leadership and supervisory knowledge and expertise, organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written). A solid background in Enterprise Asset Management and practices is essential, supported by demonstrable skills of leadership, judgment, and communication. The successful candidate must have a strong customer service orientation and an understanding of Penn State culture and constituent needs.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree 6+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $68,200.00 - $102,300.00.
