As we grow our multi-discipline team, we need research specialists who can partner with design, product and business teams to shape the strategic vision for Wealth Management helping navigate large-scale digital transformation across the business. We are looking for a seasoned mixed-methods practitioner who can introduce research to product teams, launch research programs, and conduct studies to deliver insights on user needs and problems, workflows, and usability.

Private Wealth Management (PWM)

Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management (PWM) specializes in creating comprehensive wealth management plans for high net worth individuals and families, as well as select institutions, including foundations and endowments. PWM Teams work one-on-one with clients to advise and deliver customized strategies drawn from our deep investment experience, diverse wealth management capabilities and global reach. Our Private Wealth Advisors (PWAs) deliver an unparalleled investment platform inclusive of the full product and service offerings of Goldman Sachs and beyond, which may include tax and estate planning, philanthropic planning and private banking and lending services. As client needs evolve, this close relationship allows the team to offer complementary services and new opportunities by leveraging the resources of Goldman Sachs and beyond.

Research is responsible for understanding and communicating user needs and reframing them into actionable insights that product and design teams can use to improve our products and services. Research collaborates with design, product managers and developers, as well as members of other teams across sales, trading, marketing and legal to bring exceptional user experiences to life. As a team, we transform large-scale, complex problems into intuitive, simple, and impactful products.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL



  • Responsible for crafting research strategy, scoping and conducting research, and delivering actionable insights for strategic research programs within financial services.
  • Conduct competitive and comparative research and analysis to complement user research
  • Leverage heuristics, Voice of the Customer (VoC), statistical analyses, and other insightful methods to triangulate user pain points
  • Manage workload across multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Collaborate with designers, engineers and product managers to balance the right process and methodologies with the relevant business goals to ensure research delivers impactful results throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Help drive user-centric product teams, strategy, processes and products
  • Establish user research in the Wealth Management business and help to support and grow the standard of user research excellence across Goldman Sachs
  • Above all, be a passionate advocate for the user


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR



  • Bachelor's Degree required (preferably in a research or business focused field: User Experience, Human Factors, Psychology, Anthropology, or related fields)
  • 3+ years of experience in mixed-method user research, in the context of product management, interaction design, information architecture, and visual design for digital experiences
  • Relevant work experience in a large financial institution, especially within Wealth and Asset Management
  • Experience working with large data sets, quantitative research methodologies and Analytics.
  • Proven experience in a variety of research methods including qualitative (usability testing, contextual inquiry) and quantitative (survey design, max-diff, multivariate) methodologies
  • Experience planning and facilitating workshops (hypothesis, concepting, design-thinking, insights) with stakeholders to generate impactful research insights
  • Experience leveraging research software and tools (e.g. Usertesting.com, Qualtircs, Wevo and others)
  • Experience with design software including Figma and working closely with design to build and test prototypes.
  • Ability to connect research findings from multiple projects/sources and provide insights on a higher order
  • Ability to clearly and effectively summarize findings in presentations that synthesize findings and extract actionable recommendations, including experience leveraging frameworks like user journey mapping, personas and affinity diagraming.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior interpersonal skills, excellent communication and organization skills
  • Self-motivated, self-managed, self-starter with a high degree of analytical ability and intellectual curiosity who is able to ascertain what the team needs and add value with little outside direction
  • Entrepreneurial drive and a desire to work in a commercially focused, fast-paced environment
