Job Title: Licensed Electrical Engineer (PE) - Solar & Energy Storage Systems

Location: Remote with occasional travel to project sites (Washington State)

Employment Type: Contract (June 2025 - December 2025)

Hourly Rate: $75 per hour

REQUIRED: WA-licensed electrical contractor, architect, or engineer (RCW 19.28.041, 18.08, or 18.43)


Job Overview:

We are seeking a Licensed Electrical Engineer (PE) with experience in solar system design and energy storage systems to join our team. The role involves designing and evaluating solar systems for multifamily and commercial buildings, with a focus on energy savings and system integration.

Responsibilities:


  • Design solar systems (grid-tied and off-grid) for multifamily and commercial properties.
  • Conduct solar assessments and produce engineering CAD packages ready for installation.
  • Design battery storage systems integrated with solar systems.
  • Perform cost/benefit analysis for proposed designs and systems.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to assess site suitability and optimize system performance.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC electrical standards and Washington state regulations.
  • Travel to project sites as needed for assessments and evaluations.

Qualifications:

  • PE (Professional Engineer) license in Electrical Engineering (Washington State).
  • 5+ years of experience in solar system design.
  • 2+ years of experience in battery storage system design.
  • Experience designing for multifamily or commercial buildings.
  • Experience with data processing and system performance analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC electrical standards and solar equipment.
  • Ability to perform civil design tasks and cost/benefit analysis for solar projects.

Work Schedule:

  • Flexible hours with some weeks requiring 20 hours, others up to 40 hours.
  • Occasional on-site work required.
