Hourly Pay Range:

$61.80 - $95.79 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Director, Grainger Center for Simulation and Innovation -Medical and Surgical Simulation - Days

Position Highlights:

  • Location: Evanston, IL

  • Full Time/Part Time: Full time

  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30am - 5pm; some weekends

  • Required Travel: Yes, sometimes to Elmhurst, IL

The Director, Grainger Center for Simulation and Innovation role will support Endeavor Health in managing and advancing the use of cutting-edge simulation technologies within our organization. This role involves coordinating operational, project management, innovation and research aspects of the Simulation Center. The Director will ensure the effective use of simulation for educational programs, provide logistical support, and facilitate the development and implementation of simulation-based training, research initiatives, and innovation work for Endeavor Health and its teams.

What you will do:

  • Educational Support and Development: Supervise the planning, developing, implementing, and evaluation of educational programs that incorporate simulation techniques. Supervise the logistical operations for simulation center activities, including ensuring team members have the tools and training to succeeded in setting up simulators and preparing educational materials.

  • Operational Management: Supervise Coordination of the simulation lab for defined populations. Supervise Oversight of the maintenance and repair of simulation and clinical equipment. Manage human resources functions, including recruitment, training, and performance management of technical staff and other Simulation Center employees.

  • Project and Research Management: Facilitate research protocols and procedures to achieve desirable outcomes.

  • Community and External Relations: Serve as a liaison between the simulation center, the community, and other simulation centers.

  • Administrative Duties: Perform administrative tasks such as recording and categorizing expenses, managing income/invoices, and preparing quotes/terms for services.

  • Leadership and Team Development: Lead, facilitate, coach, and mentor staff for professional development and growth.

  • Wet Lab Support: Work directly with the labs surgical simulation team to support external and internal surgical device development and research

  • Innovation Project Coordination: Support the Endeavor Health Innovations team in assessing, coordinating and supporting pilot implementation of new technologies within our care spaces.

What you will need:

  • Education: Masters' degree required; MSN preferred.

  • Certification: Current RN license in the state of Illinois, BLS required, ACLS and PALS preferred Commitment to obtain CHSE within 2 years

  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of clinical experience in a critical care and or operating Room setting and 10 years preferred

  • Minimum 4 years of education/ teaching experience

  • Minimum 3 years of simulation experience at any level

  • Minimum of 5 years of team supervision or management experience

  • Unique or Preferred Skills: Familiarity with surgical equipment and supplies is a plus. Experience handling animals is a plus. Strong organizational and leadership skills. Excellent problem-solving and technical skills. Strong understanding of budgeting and financial principals. Understating of grant and philanthropic fundraising strategies. Knowledge of simulation best practices and pedagogy. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Familiarity with CAD software and image processing tools a plus. Strong presentation and public speaking skills. Strong understanding of best practices for curriculum development.
