About the Job

UMD Athletics is seeking a motivated and results driven Manager of Ticket Sales and Operations to manage the ticketing operations for UMD Athletics. Customer service and interpersonal skills are crucial to this role in creating and cultivating relationships. The incumbent will report to the Director of Athletics and supervise one full-time staff position and student workers.

Essential Responsibilities (100%)

  • Serves as the Merchant Manager, ensuring Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance.
  • Manage and execute a ticketing sales campaign with a primary focus on season tickets, mini plans, and group and individual sales plans working with Marketing on promotion of sales campaigns.
  • Achieve annual assigned ticket sales revenue objectives through the sale of season tickets, mini plans, groups and single game tickets to six ticketed sports.
  • Manage complimentary tickets, and donor and sponsor related requests.
  • Collaborate on ticket pricing, packaging, and sales through a strategic planning process and evaluate the effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with AMSOIL Arena staff regarding ticket sales for women's and men's hockey events.
  • Ensure that ticketing databases are updated and maintained.
  • Collaborate with the Associate AD for Compliance about NCAA, NCHC, NSIC and WCHA rules, policies and procedures related to the Department of Athletics ticket office.
  • Ensure audit requirements are met for all athletic events.
  • Update the events on the e-commerce website of Ticketmaster.
  • Update the ticketing section on the departmental website on Sidearms.
  • Manage, organize, and motivate ticketing staff.
  • Assist with game day management, fundraising events and other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

  • The physical requirements of the position include being able to stand and sit for extended periods of time and lift boxes/equipment near 15-20 pounds.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS or a combination of related education and work experience to equal four years, applies knowledge and skill to a recurring task or activity with emphasis typically on precision and timeliness of execution.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, community relations skills and the ability to communicate and work effectively within a diverse community.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office / Excel.
  • Some evening and weekend work is required and based on sports' schedules.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working within governing organization rules and guidelines (e.g., NCAA, NCHC, NSIC, WCHA, etc.).
  • Experience with Ticketmaster or similar ticketing system.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of Google Workspace.
Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment Category: 75%-100% Appointment (If job description above does not specify appointment or expected weekly hours, assume a 100% appointment.)
