Position Summary:
The GEIR program Specialist implements and
administers the GEIR pilot program for the Center for Student Entrepreneurship.
This position will manage the
day-to-day programmatic activities of the grant-funded Global Entrepreneur in Residence (GEIR) pilot, a program within the Center for Student Entrepreneurship at
NJIT. The Program Specialist will serve as the operational support for the
GEIR pilot program, executing on the full lifecycle of program launch,
execution, and evaluation.
Essential Functions:
-Lead the day-to-day programmatic activities of the GEIR pilot program.
-Grant Compliance and Reporting: Ability to understand and adhere to grant guidelines, regulations, and reporting requirements to the Office of the Secretary of Higher Education, ensuring all project activities and expenditures aligning with the grant agreement, and preparing accurate and timely progress and financial reports. Handles complex issues and problems and refers to more complex issues to the Grant PI.
-Budget Management: monitoring project budgets and ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints, while also identifying and addressing any potential financial discrepancies.
-Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration: Engage and collaborate with project team members, partner organizations, and potential GEIR applicants, to ensure alignment, address concerns, and facilitate program success.
-Project Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, define project scope, establish realistic timelines, identify critical milestones, and effectively allocate resources, while also proactively managing risks, resolving issues, and ensuring project deliverables are completed on time and within budget. Monitors key performance indicators and data analytics to assess program outcomes and deliver stakeholder reports. Analyze and document process redesign, systematization, and continuous evaluation of the program to ensure impact and scalability.
-Data Collection and Evaluation: Ability to design and implement data collection methods, tools, and processes to gather relevant project data, and to analyze and evaluate project outcomes, outputs, and impacts, using both qualitative and quantitative approaches, to inform ongoing program viability, demonstrate accountability, and facilitate continuous improvement.
-Support promotion of the program: Both on campus and into the broader community and the region, including emphasizing the brand, conducting outreach, and creating content for digital promotion.
-Organize and execute GEIR-related programming: To have a robust schedule of educational events and onboarding into the CSE. May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to the GEIRs.
-Other tasks as assigned by the PI of the grant.
Prerequisite Qualifications:
-Master's degree required: Master's degree in business administration (MBA) or a related field.
-2-4 years' experience in managing projects in an entrepreneurial environment, preferably in a grant-based organization or higher education institution.
-Experience in stakeholder communication with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
-Understanding of information systems and its alignment with project management to achieve efficiency.
-Demonstrated ability to plan tasks to achieve final outcomes.
-Familiarity with startup ecosystems, university entrepreneurship programs
-An understanding of immigration pathways for international entrepreneurs is preferred.
-Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter: international entrepreneurship.
-At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
