Our Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Computational Toxicologist for a Senior Managing Scientist position in our Chemical Regulation and Food Safety Practice in Washington, DC (other locations will be considered). In this role you will work as part of a team across Exponent Practices to utilize your experience and skills related to computational toxicology, modeling, exposure and risk assessment to assist clients in ensuring the best available science is applied when assessing safety across various regulatory paradigms. Our client base spans industry, trade associations, regulatory and litigation attorneys, and insurance companies, which request our assistance on a broad spectrum of issues across all applications including personal care, human and veterinary pharmaceutical, pesticide, human and animal food, nutrition, consumer products, and medical devices.



You will be responsible for

  • Modern strategic approaches to address safety and risk of chemical exposure
  • Regulatory strategy and interpretation for client product portfolios and related approval
  • Identifying new clients and new business marketing opportunities in related fields
  • Developing clients through business development and marketing efforts
  • Client management and project work
  • Providing scientific technical review
  • Mentoring junior staff


You will have the following skills and qualifications

  • Ph.D. with a concentration in Statistics, Toxicology, Exposure Science, Computational Toxicology, or related sciences; Master's degree with relevant experience will be considered
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in industry, trade associations, academia, government, or consulting
  • Extensive knowledge of statistics, systems biology, data science and visualization, high-throughput methods, toxicology, and risk assessment
  • Proven ability or potential to build an existing personal consulting practice comprised of a substantial client base
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments under rigid time constraints
  • Ability to manage client projects independently
  • Ability to manage and participate effectively in team projects

Compensation

Our consultants are rewarded for their technical and business contributions and have an opportunity to plan for future success and career growth. Exponent's total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent. At the Manager level and above, total compensation includes base salary, annual bonus, and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.

The base salary range for this position is dependent on experience and capabilities which will be assessed during the interview process.



Salary Range

USD $171,600.00 - USD $208,000.00 /Yr.
