Sprinkler Service Technician

What You Will Do

  • Receive service calls from the Service Resource Center, including a brief description of equipment/system malfunctions.

  • Contact customer representatives to ascertain equipment/system problems.

  • Perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, and residential applications, including but not limited to wet (steel, copper, and CPVC), dry, pre-action, deluge, and fire pumps.

How You Will Do It

  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.

  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service, strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to learn quickly.

  • Work independently and follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures, referring to technical manuals, part manuals, change notices, and bulletins as needed.

What We Look For

Required:

  • Must hold a valid Minnesota Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter License. Candidates without this license cannot be considered.

  • Previous experience in the fire sprinkler industry performing service and repair of sprinkler and suppression systems.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Proficiency with computer/phone systems: Word, Excel, Outlook, and mobile apps.

  • Ability to perform service work on all water-based fire protection systems.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements.

  • Availability for overnight travel as required.

  • Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs.

  • Adherence to, implementation of, and compliance with all safety guidelines and procedures.

  • Valid driver's license with driving record meeting company requirements.

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

  • Physical ability to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs.

  • Ability to work in challenging positions, including ladders, scaffolding, high-lift equipment up to 60 feet, within ducts, crawl spaces, and above ceilings.

  • Participation in an on-call rotation.

Preferred:

  • NICET certification.

  • Backflow certification.

  • Fire pump experience.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $26/$36 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge,
skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.) This position
