The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

Job Description

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing and managing medium scale university level projects impacting segments of active students and impacting operations across departments which includes designing, planning, organizing, monitoring, and managing all phases of assigned project(s), including assessing project impact, within Faculty Experience that contribute to the overall transformation strategy.

  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining professional working relations and communication with stakeholders, project team members, departments, and outside contacts relevant to the project.

  • Assists with or directly owns the detailed collection and analysis of current state business process information related to operational data points and student impact, in close collaboration with Faculty Operations and Institutional Research data analysts.

  • Responsible for the creation and presentation of communications, reports and analysis which will be used to drive decision making related to the prioritization of actions and assignment of resources.

  • Tracks and summarize the effects and impacts of completed projects in terms of student outcomes and positive impacts to the quality of the experience for faculty and students.

  • Collaborates with and influences cross-functionally, including across WGU departments to gather information, gain consensus, communication updates and implement solutions.

  • Employs domain specific expertise, experience at WGU and other higher education institutions to lead cross-department level initiatives.

  • Collaborates extensively with Faculty Experience team in designing and developing key features of a student-centered faculty model, including modular support/employment models and continuous improvement processes for faculty engagement that support student outcomes, as well as the processes and tools to facilitate implementation.

  • Presents and Reports regularly to WGU's College Leadership, and primary stakeholders to influence decision making, gain buy-in and support systemic change to improve student outcomes.

  • Leverages system-thinking approach to designing segments of the student experience and identify how policies, business processes, best practices, services, service level agreement.

  • Responsible for planning, organizing, monitoring, and managing all phases of projects.

  • Plans, coordinates, and delivers one or more business transformation projects/programs across WGU.

  • Secures commitments from different stakeholders to deliver the project to plan.

  • Delivers financial and quality commitments according to the strategic plan.

  • Reports project/program status & risk regularly to the stakeholders, users, and leadership team.

  • Demonstrates the WGU leadership principles in all aspects of service to students, employees and partners of WGU. Influence through direct and indirect management.

  • Responds with urgency to organization needs and exhibits excellent judgment to deliver results.

  • Demonstrated ability to use and interpret data to make decisions, and communicate results effectively to various stakeholders

Job Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in related field

  • At least 5 year of experience in higher education institutions, EdTech in a management and/or project management

  • Minimum 3 years professional experience in a role that required extensive Project/Change Management skills in a large and distributed organization (5000+ employees).

  • Demonstrated experience managing teams and initiatives to impact student outcomes through specific interventions; people leadership preferred

  • Demonstrated professional experience in communication to a broad audience base, with a technical writing emphasis.

  • Demonstrated professional experience managing complex projects and working cross-functionally.

  • Proficient in project management software tools and collaboration software

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills to a broad audience across multiple departments and stakeholders with a technical writing emphasis.

  • Light travel required, approximately 10% to 15%.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Higher Education administration, leadership, business, etc.
  • Prior experience as WGU Faculty

  • Experience with Internal Audit program is a plus.

  • PMP Certification

  • Change Management Certification

  • Lean Six Sigma

  • Human Resources and/or workforce development experience a plus

  • Public and/or customer relations and communication experience a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Position & Application Details
