Rivian is hiring for a Staff Industrial Engineer to improve the production output in manufacturing. As a Staff Industrial Engineer, you will have the opportunity to plan utilization of facilities, equipment, materials and personnel to improve efficiency of operations in the fastest growing industry in the country and make a true impact on growing the Electric Vehicle Industry. The opening is located at our Plymouth, MI facility and reports directly to the ME Senior Manager Industrial Engineering.

• Lead Obeya War Room Process for new models working the ME Shop teams.
• Responsible for reporting production manpower KPIs for new model programs including conversion cost improvement tracking and new facility hiring plans.
• Work closely with ME Shop teams on Bill of Process and validating all the ME sequence of operations.
• Develop new Standards for manpower metrics that relate directly to improving conversion cost.
• Complete special studies and quick manpower studies using best practices benchmarked from global sources.
• Works closely with the operations team and production control team to optimize material flow and line layout.
• Create standard salary templates for new models and operations.
• Participate in product and packaging reviews to evaluate process impact and provide feedback on build sequence, process time analysis, and investment requirements.
• Coordinate with the team to determine and introduce optimum plant layout, equipment, tooling, and part racking in General Assembly to achieve maximum efficiency.
• Use simulation to validate future model plans.
• Investigate alternative shift patterns and overspeed changes and their impact on

• Must have good communication skills - both verbal and written.
• Experience and/or certification in Lean Assembly Principles, Time Studies using MTM or MODAPTS. (Preferred)
• Working knowledge in Excel, Powerpoint, Sheets, Slides programs.
• Creative problem-solving skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong team orientation and cross functional attitude.
• Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma, Lean Six Sigma etc experience is a plus.
• 5+ years engineering experience in a high-volume manufacturing operation, preferably automotive.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline or a combination of combined experience.

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for Illinois, Michigan & Georgia based applicants: $114,000-$142,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
