Key Position Details:

Job Description:

Plans, develops, coordinates and implements driver rehabilitation services for individuals with disabilities and medical conditions. Completes clinical and behind-the-wheel driving assessments which may also include equipment evaluations and/or training services to clients for the purpose of assessing independent driving skills.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Complete comprehensive driver assessments which includes clinical, behind-the-wheel and outcome portions of the appointment.
  • Evaluating equipment or modifications for driving and/or passenger access of sedan, SUV and/or van as needed.
  • Schedules and provides behind-the-wheel lessons, with or without equipment, for training which includes lesson plan development, documentation and preparation for the State Road test.
  • Coordinates and forwards documentation with regards to assessment and/or lesson appointments, submitting charges, obtaining lesson funding authorization, verifying license status.
  • Ensure program vehicles and equipment are maintained to meet safety standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • 2 years of working occupational therapy experience in rehabilitation setting or similar

Licenses/Certifications

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist required-MN Department of Health required if service area is in Minnesota upon hire
  • Licensed Occupational Therapist required-WI Dept of Safety & Professional Services required if service area is in Wisconsin upon hire
  • Valid Driver's License required upon hire - MN and WI residents must obtain a valid driver's license in their state of residence within 60 days of employment
  • Licensed Driving Instructor required within 90 days of start date-MN Department of Public Safety, Driver and Vehicle Services
  • Certified Driver Rehabilitation Specialist (CDRS) required within 2 years of start date-Association of Driver Rehabilitation Specialists (ADED)

Physical Demands

  • Light Work:
  • Lifting weight up to 20 lbs. occasionally, up to 10 lbs. frequently

Pay Range

Pay Range: $34.83 to $47.74 per hour The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
