Activities include but are not limited to chart reviews, data abstraction for CMS, NHSN, and other outcomes studies, and staff education. Develop, and adapt as necessary, information systems to report on key performance indicators to ensure that managers/Director can measure and monitor and continuously improve performance. The Infection control supervisor is also responsible for surveillance, prevention, and control of infection. Acts as a primary education consultant to hospital employees, physicians, patients, volunteers, and visitors in safe Infection Control/Prevention practices. Coordinates all hospital infection control activities with the Infection Control Committee, Medical Staff and hospital employees, as and when needed. The role is responsible for supervising auditors, supporting the design, development, analysis, interpretation and presentation of statistical data to support the many performance functions. Operational responsibilities include but not limited to interpret and provide accurate and timely information to Director and senior executive team in a format that is easily understood and relevant to the decision-making process. This will involve supervision and receipt of information to analyze, interpret and present in an appropriate format for process improvement and timely submission to CMS- NHSN and or other regulatory agencies. Develops and implements sound practices and audit controls, establishes quality control procedures, and specifies effective statistical process controls. IC supervisor will conduct internal audits, reviewing supporting documentation, and appraise preparedness of the auditors. Required to work closely with colleagues in producing information analysis. Able to coach and mentor the Infection Control Coordinators and data abstractors for retro, concurrent and real time monitoring. Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING Required qualifications: 1. Associate degree in life sciences or related field. Graduate from an accredited school with a bachelor's degree in medicine, nursing, epidemiology, microbiology, public health or other life science related field. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $97,593.60 to $131,435.20 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
