JOB OVERVIEW: As a Barista at the Atlanta Evergreen Lakeside Resort, your primary responsibility will be to supervise and create an atmosphere where our guests can savour the good life with inspiring food and beverage. Prepares specialty coffees, guest engagement, cashiering. Cleaning and organizing cafe area.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the cafe on a daily basis. This includes requisitioning and stocking of coffee, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and grab & go items based on projections from the daily occupy forecast to ensure product quality.

Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks. Makes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes with a sophisticated style.

Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to food safety.

Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates a check for each guest, including those served by other beverage servers, to maintain accountability of all beverages served.

Receives cash from guests, makes any change needed, verifies validity of charges, records charges, and ensures vouchers are properly executed, in order to balance all moneys.

Locks up and stores all beverage, food and other equipment items, deposits cash drops and secures bank.

Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.

Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Positive Attitude with a team first mentality

Ability to maintain high levels of professionalism; treat others with respect and consideration regardless of situation.

Ability to manage difficult or emotional customers or situations; includes ability to respond promptly to guest requests

Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes.

Basic knowledge of coffee or passion for learning

Ability to follow a recipe

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times. Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to "pitch-in" and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player. Considerable skill in the use of a calculator to prepare moderately complex mathematical calculations without error. Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts. Ability to stand and move throughout front office and continuously perform essential job functions. Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system. Ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers and patrons.

In order to maintain a positive guest and associate experience, your work habits should always meet and strive to exceed hotel standards for work procedures, dress, grooming, punctuality and attendance. You should be adaptable to change in your work area and in hotel procedures with a willingness to learn new skills and/or improve existing ones, have the ability to solve routine problems that occur on the job and ask for help whenever you are not sure how to do something.

Safety & Security:

The safety and security of our guests and associates is of utmost importance to Crescent. Every Crescent associate should adhere to the hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and safety concerns.
