The Manager of Learning, Non-Clinical has a direct impact on how we can transform the development and training of our employees. The Manager is responsible for overseeing the learning environment across the organization and management, administration, and integration of educational technology systems. Responsibilities include:



  • Oversight and leadership of the activities and functions of the department.
  • Participate in department strategic planning and contributes to its success through effectively communicating goals and expectations to staff.
  • Position the department well for future technology that meets the needs of the adult learner and that encourages knowledge transfer, connection, and engagement.
  • Drive technology improvement initiatives forward rather than remaining static.
  • Improve learning effectiveness and learning best practices.
  • Coordinate with curriculum, assessment, and instructional design teams and subject matter experts to ensure a successful user experience and support achievement of desired learning outcome.
  • Ensure best practice of e-Learning standards.
  • Work closely with third party instructional technology vendors and partners to manage and enhance the use of systems.
  • Interface with Information Services (IS), and other departments to create and maintain integration points to maximize available systems.
  • Stay current on developments with online learning technologies to drive innovative and improved services.
  • Provide guidance and tactical direction with regards to identifying and selecting learning technologies and vendors.
  • Identify gaps and barriers in human performance and root causes within healthcare operations including, but not limited to, team performance, cultural dynamics, skill sets and knowledge.
  • Develop and facilitate curriculum in alignment with learning priorities and Scripps performance objectives.
  • Align human performance and learning to operational outcomes.
  • Establish metrics and ROI criteria to measure outcomes.
  • Ensure effective use of system resources.
  • Provide functional expertise essential to staff and leadership.
  • Ensure expenses do not exceed budget.
  • Participate in standards of practice and process improvement activities.
  • Oversee staffing matrices and possesses authority to hire, conduct performance evaluations, and discipline employees.
  • Ensure policy and procedures are followed by staff.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:



  • Bachelor's degree plus 7 years' experience in organizational development, training and/or curriculum design.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive technology innovation and integration to engage learners.


Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:



  • Master's degree in Education Technology, Instructional Design, e-Learning or related field from an accredited university or college.
  • 5 years of progressive experience managing a major enterprise-wide learning management system (LMS) platform(s); familiarity with LMS requirements and functionality.
  • 2 years of leadership experience.
  • Experience managing data migration, creating interfaces with an LMS, and performing quality testing, troubleshooting and maintenance for ensuring the ideal end-user experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams and working cross-functionally with other technical and non-technical teams.
  • A history of working with stakeholders and managing complex projects.

Minimum Rate (USD) : 57.65 - Maximum Rate (USD) : 83.74
