The UHS Corporate Marketing Department is seeking a Senior Digital Designer who is responsible for digital design and user experiences for UHS facility and subsidiary digital properties.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Leads the design and development of visually appealing user-centric websites, digital publications and a variety of other digital properties.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including developers, marketers, project managers and other teams within the UHS Agency to ensure seamless integration of design and functionality.
  • Creates wireframes, prototypes, and mockups to effectively communicate design concepts and user interactions.
  • Stays current with industry trends, design best practices, and emerging technologies to continually enhance the user experience.
  • Provides mentorship and guidance to junior-level designers, fostering a collaborative and creative team environment.
  • Conducts user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and optimize user interfaces.
  • Participates in quality assurance processes to ensure website functionality and design integrity.
  • Manages and prioritizes multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality designs.
  • Collaborates with field marketing teams, stakeholders and project managers to understand project requirements and incorporate feedback into design iterations.
  • Implements responsive design principles to ensure optimal user experience across various devices and screen sizes.
  • Stays current with evolving web standards and technologies, and pro-actively recommends improvements to existing processes and tools.
  • Participates in the development of design systems and style guides to maintain consistency across digital properties.
  • Participate meetings with appropriate stakeholders to determine design deliverables and needs.
  • Collaborate with the development team for design hand-offs and quality assurance for deliverables.
  • Ask smart questions, take risks and champion new ideas.
  • Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree Graphic Design, Web Design, or a related field required with a minimum of 5-8 years' digital design experience.

  • Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of web design projects and demonstrating skills in web design, core graphic design principles and branding.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with the ability to collaborate effectively with developers. Knowledge of Wordpress and other CMS platforms is a plus.
  • Experience with responsive and mobile-first/adjacent design principles.
  • Familiarity with WCAG 2.2 digital accessibility standards and SEO best practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of design trends, UI/UX principles, and web technologies.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide junior-level team members.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of task management software such as Workfront, Teamwork and Asana; understanding of basic digital design workflow processes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal clients and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to understand detailed project requirements with the goal of designing complete user experiences that meet clients' needs and align with company branding
  • Detail oriented, with excellent communication, collaboration and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work with clients to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet client needs and vision.
  • High degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and believes in teamwork.
  • Fearless in learning and implementing new web based technologies and design trends.
  • Experience designing with a Responsive, Mobile First approach.
  • Intuitive understanding of what makes a truly great interactive experience.
  • Ability to iterate designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently.
