Financial Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY:

The Financial Coordinator I plays a pivotal role in our Revenue Operations team, acting as the key liaison between our patients and internal partners. This position is dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service while managing critical customer-facing transactions. The Financial Coordinator will facilitate the acquisition and dissemination of vital information, ensuring smooth patient onboarding and operation of key Revenue Operations functions.

This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Manager, Financial Coordination, based in our Portsmouth, NH location.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Serve as the initial point of contact for patients by relaying financial responsibilities with empathy and professionalism.
  • Conduct thorough insurance benefit verifications for new and existing patients, determining eligibility and cost-sharing amounts to facilitate effective patient communication.
  • Identify and address key obstacles in patients' onboarding and ongoing treatment journeys, ensuring a positive patient experience.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members both within the department and across the organization to assess the needs and urgency of requests.
  • Proactively & reactively execute follow-ups with patients to gather requested information and enhance their experience.
  • Maintain accurate records of communications and account hand-offs in relevant systems, ensuring seamless information flow.
  • Field incoming calls and assist patients with inquiries related to insurance and financial matters.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy across all patient-facing functions, aligning with Novocure's patient-forward mission.
  • Provide support and coverage for teammates as needed, fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Execute additional duties and priorities as assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to team objectives.



QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE:



  • Associates degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare or a customer-facing role, showcasing a strong customer service orientation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with both internal and external customers.
  • Customer service skills, with a strong ability to de-escalate and resolve challenging situations.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented culture.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced office setting, demonstrating resilience and a proactive mindset.
