OVERVIEW:

The Clinical Program Assistant provides ethical and professional support to the Clinical Team at Harbor Light. Responsibilities include administrative tasks to aid overall operations. The Clinical Program Assistant collaborates with the clinical team to support all program participants.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Attend case conferences, reviews, staff meetings, and trainings; take minutes as needed
  • Represent the Harbor Light Center and coordinate with community services
  • Lead clinical responses and participate in intakes and orientations
  • Enter data in AVATAR and WellSky; compile and oversee reports and record
  • Promote abstinence, harm reduction, and participant empowerment
  • Support counselors with documentation, group attendance, and stats
  • Ensure compliance with care standards, confidentiality, and grievance procedures
  • Act as a mandated reporter for suspected abuse
  • Refer participants to internal/external resources and mental health providers
  • Respond to emergencies and assist with evacuations
  • Enforce program policies and medication compliance
  • Maintain monthly statistics and documentation of classes in WellSky
  • Other related duties as required


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Experience in substance abuse and/or mental health (preferred)
  • First Aid and CPR certification within first fourteen days of employment (Required - company provided)
  • Tuberculosis clearance (within first seven days of employment - company provided)
  • Current AOD Certification or Registration pursuant to CA Code of Regulations, Title 9 * 13010 (preferred)
  • Experience working successfully with issues of substance abuse, mental illness, and other potential barriers to self-sufficiency
  • Experience with Microsoft programs


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



  • Bilingual in Spanish (preferred)
  • Knowledge of clinical documentation (preferred)
  • Integrity and ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work with a diverse population


EQUIPMENT USED:



  • Modern Office Equipment and Relevant Software


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (Usually file boxes)
