CNC Laser Operator - Sheet Metal - 2nd Shift

CNC Layout/Laser Sheet Metal Processing Operator

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Layout plates for various product lines, sheets, angles, channel or bar stock for structural assembly
• Set-up, regulate and operate CNC Laser, to burn out a wide variety of shapes and sizes for both standard and non-standard products from ferrous metal
• Set-up and operate all types of sheet metal equipment including Laser, brake press and wall press foaming machine to specifications
• Set-up machine according to specifications with the proper dies and degree of angle and/or special extruding jig
• Construct products of complex design such as but not limited to, transition pieces, elbow, etc. on various ferrous and non-ferrous metals and alloys
• Perform any & all daily/weekly operator PM's on Laser, Press Brake & Panel Foam Press equipment
• Program machine to perform special cuts for applications which are not DNC
• Layout and position cuts for economical use of material
• Lay out for correct hole dimensions, for correct contours and figure allowance for bending and forming
• Develop templates and sketches for standard products, non-standard and experimental work from drawings or sketches
• Able to read the piece part drawings with no supervision
• Measure, inspect and make adjustments for the correct size and bends to ensure parts meet drawing specifications
• Use various hand tools, associated with operation of machine
• Detect unusual conditions or material defects and report to supervision
• Perform necessary material handling associated with the job
• Maintain and record labor, production records in relation to time, quality, quantity and other records
• Maintain clean, safe work area and equipment according to 5S standards
• May be called upon to participate within special work teams performing various team related duties. Including Kaizen events, 5S programs and problem-solving exercises
• Follow all safety policies, procedures and JHRA's
