SUMMARY
The Manager, Corporate Real Estate and Facilities position at First Interstate Bank is responsible for overseeing the operations and staff of the Corporate Facilities Department. Key responsibilities include providing management and support in the oversight of the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of First Interstate Bank properties; developing short- and long-term plans in collaboration with business and executive management; providing oversight and recommendation related to contracts for facilities-related services by outside vendors; establishing facilities-related organizational priorities; and management of all facility lease arrangements. Will assist, and in some cases, direct the management of equipment, facilities, grounds, and maintenance operations. This role will be responsible for ensuring all facilities and facility modifications adhere to ADA and other workplace safety compliance requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works to achieve the strategic and operational goals of the organization.
  • Reviews annual maintenance plans and develops department budget.
  • Leads due diligence of land and building acquisitions.
  • Ensures compliance with all necessary laws and regulations.
  • Actively engages in relationships with contractors, architects, and other service providers.
  • Develops and maintains standard project management processes for land and building acquisitions, new construction, and major remodeling projects.
  • Facilitates the purchase of equipment and furniture with executive and unit management, the IT Department, Purchasing, and others.
  • Reports on ongoing projects, including timeline, and budgets.
  • Develops and implements programs to support sustainability and continuous improvement initiatives in the management and operations of facilities.
  • Assists Executive and Unit management in developing long-term workspace plans.
  • Evaluates and maintains workspace benchmark data.
  • Leads bidding processes for goods and services.
  • Participates in the management of major facility projects as project lead.
  • Partners with unit management to accomplish annual inspections of all properties, 3-5 year acquisition, remodeling, and leasehold improvement plans.
  • Leads in the development of project plans.
  • Monitors and maintains occupancy leases for compliance.
  • Develops standard lease document for all tenant leases.
  • Maintains and monitors all tenant lease records.
  • Updates and matures related policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Establishes facility vendor bonding requirements and monitors compliance.
  • Develops occupancy data and benchmarks, including general occupancy costs, utilities, taxes, repairs, and etc.
  • Ensures sufficient maintenance contracts and vendor relationships are in place, including negotiation and lease monitoring for bank property.
  • Advances standard contracts for ordinary maintenance and facility operational service vendors (janitorial, HVAC, security, landscape, etc.).
  • Partners with accounting and unit management to ensure proper processing and reporting of property taxes, facility operating and maintenance costs, and lease related transactions.

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides overall department leadership.
  • Manages and develops the team in accordance with company policies and annual operating plans.
  • Represents the Company at internal and external events, as requested.
  • Works effectively with executive management and bank personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Accomplished knowledge of building systems, legal and regulatory compliance, and financial management.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Possess leadership skills.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field required
  • 10+ years progressively responsible experience related to real estate construction and development, building systems and maintenance, negotiation of real estate sales and construction contracts, and facility or ground leases required and
  • 4-6 years management experience preferred
