JOB SUMMARY This role will ensure the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of organizational data. The incumbent will assist in the development, implementation, and support of a comprehensive data governance framework and related processes at UT Southwestern. This includes collaboration with data stewards, and stakeholders, management of data assets, monitoring compliance and performance, and enabling data-driven decision-making through proper governance practices. This role requires coordination skills, ability to interpret, develop and implement policies and standards/procedures. Experience in policy and program development/management highly preferred. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule. Candidate's must reside in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex or be willing to relocate. This position does not support H1B sponsorship. JOB DUTIES
- Assist in designing and implementing a comprehensive data governance framework to ensure data accuracy, accessibility, consistency, and security.
- Collaborate with data stewards and stakeholders to establish and maintain governance policies, standards, and procedures.
- Monitor data quality and integrity, identifying and resolving issues in collaboration with relevant teams.
- Conduct risk assessments related to data handling and management, recommending mitigation strategies to ensure compliance with data protection and privacy laws.
- Develop and track metrics related to data quality, governance activities, and compliance to assess progress and effectiveness.
- Maintain an inventory of data assets, including classification by sensitivity and criticality, to support effective governance.
- Act as a liaison between IT, Information Security, data stewards, and academic, research, and clinical units to promote data governance principles and practices.
- Facilitate communication and training sessions to ensure adoption of data governance policies and standards.
- Support a community of practice (COP) for data governance, promoting knowledge sharing and collaborative problem-solving.
- Support and facilitate processes related to Data Use Agreements (DUA), Data Use and Sharing Agreements (DUSA), and Data Transfer Agreements (DTA) to ensure compliance and effective management of data sharing.
