Description Summary: Responsible for overseeing and directing all security-related tasks and activities in a 24/7 food manufacturing environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Supervises the activities of the plant security team, including scheduling, training and performance evaluations. 2. Coordinates safety inspections, testing and operation of emergency alarms, emergency lights, safety showers, eye wash stations, fire systems and ensures emergency access to all facility entrances. 3. Ensures on site contractors comply with plant safety rules including PPE and GMP's. 4. Assists with first aid/CPR/AED training. Inspects AED's and first aid materials. 5. Ensures the proper removal of snow and the safety of walking surfaces during winter months. 6. Serves as a backup to plant FEC and helps initiate emergency action plan activities as needed. 7. Performs the annual security survey with Corporate security manager with follow up on corrective actions and assists with injury investigations. 8. Logs and weighs incoming and outgoing milk trucks, chemicals and waste products. 9. Controls access to company facilities and operations within the guidelines established for the facility, including logging visitors, temporary employees, vendors and contractors. 10. Coordinates locksmith services. 11. Logs various information regarding company vehicles (e.g., tag trailer number, mileage, driver). 12. Handles phone calls to the facility. Logs calls and properly handles inquiries, directing them to the appropriate individual and/or department. 13. Handles call-offs for plant employees. Passes out paychecks and collects employment applications. 14. When required, visually inspects designated areas during the shift ensuring that from a security and safety standpoint the operation is secure. 15. Logs temperature and checks seal on Refrigeration units upon arrival and departure. 16. Logs meter readings on a daily basis. 17. Monitors door access controls, fire alarm and burglar alarm systems. Requirements Education and/or Experience: * High School Diploma or General Education Degree required. * Certified in first aid, CPR, AED, EMT preferred. Knowledgeable of OSHA 1910 safety regulations. * Five years experience with facility security management and 3-5 years as a safety Supervisor. * Ability to perform a multitude of tasks with strong communication skills. * Knowledge of computer software: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point. * Must be registered as a New York State Security Guard. |
