Job Summary:

The People & Culture Learning Experience Designer is responsible for creating engaging and effective learning experiences for the firm. This role applies principles of LXD to design and develop instructional content that aligns with the firm's learning objectives and meets the needs of the learners. The Designer collaborates with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and other stakeholders to create innovative and learner-centric learning solutions that leverage the latest technologies and instructional practices.

Job Duties:



  • Applies design standards and best practices to design and develop interactive and engaging learning experiences for a variety of modalities, including e-learning and virtual instructor-led training (VILT)
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and other stakeholders to analyze learning needs, define learning objectives, and design effective instructional content that aligns with the firm's learning goals and strategies
  • Creates instructional materials, including storyboards, scripts, audio and video scripts, graphics, and other multimedia assets using industry-standard tools and technologies
  • Remains up to date with the latest trends, research, and best practices in learning experience design, instructional design, adult learning theory, and related fields, and applies this knowledge to continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of the firm's learning experiences
  • Provides consultation and guidance to internal stakeholders on learning experience design principles, strategies, and technologies to enhance the overall effectiveness and impact of the firm's learning initiatives
  • Maintains project documentation, including design documents, storyboards, and other instructional materials, and ensures compliance with organizational standards and guidelines
  • Interprets National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) standards to advise internal clients on the appropriate design mechanisms to track participation, and makes language recommendations for learning objectives and course descriptions that meet the standards

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education:



  • Bachelor's degree, required; focus in instructional design, instructional technology, or education, preferred


Experience:



  • Three (3) or more years of learning experience design or instructional design experience with a strong portfolio of successful learning solutions, required
  • Experience in designing for classroom/instructor-led delivery, required
  • Experience in a detail-oriented task-based role that highly leverages technology, required
  • Experience designing e-learning for delivery through a learning management system (LMS), required
  • Experience with interpreting regulatory guidelines, rules, and laws, preferred


License/Certifications:



  • N/A


Software:



  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel, required
  • Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, required
  • Experience with high-level course development tools such as Articulate Storyline, Captivate, Camtasia, Audacity, Soundforge and/or Lectora, preferred
  • Experience with advanced visual design development tools such as Photoshop, Premiere, Flash, Director and SharePoint, preferred

Other Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:



  • Knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM), and assessment and evaluation techniques, and accessibility standards
  • Strong consulting skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex processes into clear and effective learning modules
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to understand and interpret NASBA and AICPA guidelines and apply them to training modules
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Ability and willingness to learn new applications with minimum supervision and/or instruction
  • Capable of working within a deadline-drive environment and handle multiple projects, deliverables, and deadlines simultaneously
  • Capable of successfully while working independently or within a group environment
  • Excellent customer service attitude with the ability to provide guidance to internal customers



Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

National Range: $75,000 - $85,000
Maryland Range: $75,000 - $85,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $75,000 - $85,000
