Site Safety Specialist

Huntsman is seeking a Site Safety Specialist supporting the Shared Services - Americas Division located in The Woodlands, Texas. This position will report to the Waterway Facility Manager

Job Scope

The Waterway Site Safety Specialist role is the primary point of contact for all safety and security related activities in the Waterway Office. This includes the promotion, coordination, communication, and awareness training for all personnel safety programs, policies, and initiatives as well as coordination with the Property Management group for all building life safety systems and drills.

In summary, as the Site Safety Specialist, you will:

• Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
• Assists other employees in accomplishment of Huntsman company goals.
• Participates in and completes company-required training programs.
• Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.

Minimum Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 10 years related experience may be substituted in lieu of formal educational background.
• Experience in Office Safety and/or Facility Management highly desirable

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years related experience.

Skills and knowledge

• Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs
• Knowledge and experience with facility access control and security systems is desirable
• Communicates tactfully and effectively both verbally and in writing, and maintains effective work relations with those encountered during the course of employment.
• Flexibility and adaptability to new instructions and/or dynamic organizational priorities is critical for job success.
• An exceptional aptitude for language skills is critical for job success.
• A moderate aptitude for mathematical skills is important for job success.
• A moderate aptitude for mechanical skills is important for job success.
• A moderate level of innovative or creative thinking and application is important for job success.

Working Environment

• Exposure to outdoor or extreme weather conditions may occur less than 50% amount of time.
• Moderate noise levels are typical for this job.
• Physical demands such as standing or walking may occur greater than 50% amount of time.
• Lifting requirements of up to 10 lbs may occur less than 50% amount of time.
