Formed just over 8 years ago, the Financial Reinsurance (FinRe) team has responsibility for marketing, developing, structuring, and executing financial reinsurance deals for our US Life insurance clients. It's viewed as one of the greatest growth potential areas for the organization and is staffed with an experienced and diverse team, focused on developing innovative and creative solutions for our clients.

As the AVP & Actuary, you'll be exposed to all aspects of the FinRe business; providing you with valuable insight to not only our clients' financing and strategic objectives - but a greater understanding of the industry as a whole. The mission of this role is to provide strategic support, originate new business opportunities, and deliver innovative financial reinsurance solutions that drive business growth.

Your Job:

• Assist with identifying new business opportunities and developing strategies to drive growth
• Responsible for deal origination, creating effective marketing materials and proposals, as well as pro-forma financial statement models specific to deals
• Lead pricing and structuring discussions with clients
• Assist with deal execution. This will be a team effort but the individual is expected to play a critical role in key aspects such as pricing, risk assessment, internal discussions for approvals, treaty review, etc.
• Manage post-close inquiries from client and/or internal stakeholders
• Mentor junior team members to enhance productivity, work quality, and overall team performance

Your Profile:

• FSA required
• 10+ year actuarial experience life insurance industry, as well as investment banking and/or capital markets
• Financial modeling experience
• Solid understanding of life and annuity insurance products
• Strong understanding of financial reporting
• Ability to understand statutory and GAAP accounting

For New York City based employees, the base salary range anticipated for this position is $244,902 - $283,571, plus an opportunity for an annual company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay.
