We're recruiting for a Lead Test Engineer to join our busy Final Test Team. This opportunity would suit a pro-active individual lookingfor the next step intheir career.Take a lead in identifying and solving problems presented in the area of responsibility. Proactively work across the department to continually improve processes and working practices. Deliver fully tested products in line with test procedures issued and maintained by the Manufacturing Engineering Team. Ensure the product complies with established standards and specifications. Take ownership for tools allocated ensuring quality is maintained, schedules are achieved and efficiency targets met. In the absence of the Test Team Leader ensure the smooth running of the Test Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a fully functional tested product, on time to delivery schedules whilst strictly following the test procedures issued by the Manufacturing Engineering team.
- Ensure test procedures are strictly and efficiently adhered to and that all documentation is fully completed and signed off in line with responsibility / accountability boundaries
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives aimed towards reducing manufacturing costs whilst improving product quality
- Drive improved product quality through data capture (FRACAS), ensuring faults are accurately reported and provide adequate detail to support analysis and effective corrective action.
- Lead by example to ensure the highest level of attendance, quality, Health & Safety, build / test cleanliness and 5S within the test department and associated areas
- Take the lead where appropriate to maintain a clean and safe working environment by ensuring the workplace is consistent with the company's health and safety policy.
- Support Customer acceptance visits and in the absence of the Team Leader co ordinate resource requirements. Provide a point of contact within the team during the visit
- Identify resource where Test support is required during system installation / commissioning at customer site
- Actively promote 5S principles within the test department
- May be required from time to time to visit customers sites to support install /commissioning of systems
- Work on a rotating shift pattern in line with the rota notified to you by your Team Leader
- Carry out any other tasks that may be reasonably requested by the Company
Education / Qualifications:
- A high general level of education and literacy.
- HNC or equivalent
- Preferred (but not essential) - Qualified to HND level or equivalent.
ProfessionalSkills/ Abilities:
- Complex Electro-Mechanical Assembly &/or Test experience.
- The ability to effect change and commitment to inspire others to work towards a common plan, achieving tangible results.
- Has vacuum and RF experience
- Able to investigate and analyse problems and suggest solutions.
- IT literate andPresentation skills.
