THE JOB:
Blue Man Group is looking for a creative, hands-on Props Technician to help bring our one-of-a-kind show to life. Working with our Props team and other departments, you'll support performances, rehearsals, and maintenance to help deliver the unforgettable experience our audiences love. THE STARTING RATE:$38.55/hour

SCHEDULE:On-call, varied shifts to support based on business needs with the primary focus on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday between the hours of 1:45PM - 10:00PM. Shows run 7 days a week so this is subject to change.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Run cue tracks to position and operate show props as directed for performances, artist training and maintenance.

  • Inspect and maintain show props and related equipment.

  • Maintain a safe working environment at all times by conforming to establish safety policies and procedures.

  • Participate in required safety classes and emergency rescue procedure training.

  • Maintain cue track documentation and participate in cue track rotation as directed by departmental leadership.

  • Develop a thorough knowledge of prop equipment specific to the production in order to operate equipment safely.

  • Collaborate on special projects including the construction and installation of new show props and puppet elements.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 3+ years' experience in aprofessional theatrical environment as a props technician with and In-depth knowledge of theatrical props for large scale productions.
  • Able to work varied shifts to include weekends and holidays.
