SSOE is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Structural Engineer. Responsibilities

A Typical Day Might Include:
    Perform a variety of routine engineering assignments under the direction of a supervisor with increasing responsibility based on performance.
  • May represent the firm in meetings and conferences to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate a project.
  • Meet with clients to define project scope, present project progress, and assure client satisfaction.
  • Prepare calculations and/or utilize computer analysis and design software to design steel, concrete, and masonry structures.
  • Collect information and project requirements from all available sources for incorporation into project design.
  • Identify physical interference issues and coordinate with other team members for acceptable resolutions.
  • Review project submittals.
  • Review and prepare responses to RFIs.
  • May be required to visit the project site to verify existing field conditions and provide on-site support.
  • May travel to other SSOE facilities for coordination purposes.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Qualifications

What you'll need on day one:
  • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering, which qualifies for licensure in the state of practice, is required.
  • PE or SE required with five (5) or more years of related practical experience with former employer(s).
  • Experience with structural analysis software including RISA and Profis.
  • Experience with Revit.
  • Experience with other software such as BIM360, BlueBeam, or Navisworks.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of structural fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of Building Codes and Material Standards.
  • Knowledge of seismic design/detailing requirements of concrete structures, steel structures, and foundations.
  • Valid driver's license required. May be waived for international assignments.
