Overview
This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office. Lead underwriting efforts by servicing Healthcare portfolios at the highest level of ability and complexity. Support the Healthcare lending team with expertise in structuring, analysis, and credit documentation for Healthcare credit actions. Establish viability of repayment sources and prepare credit approval memos. Identify, gather, and review financial information to determine credit grades and appropriate loan structuring. Assess and communicate risks to assist department risk mitigation strategies. Provide service and support for both associates and customers, assisting in customer calls and may assist in identifying cross-sales opportunities. Offer guidance on escalated or difficult underwriting matters. Lead special projects as needed to facilitate Healthcare lending activities and service capabilities. Act in a leadership role to less experienced underwriters in the work group. Lead the underwriting of Healthcare credit actions according to applicable regulations, procedures, and guidelines. Interact directly with customers to gather information throughout the approval process and to determine the viability of repayment. Review financial statements, communicate with customers or prospects, and perform analysis to recommend credit grades, covenants, and appropriate loan structuring. Ensure all involved parties are updated on underwriting progress and outcome. Provide leadership in daily activities through underwriting production and credit analysis expertise. Identify risks through reviews, analysis, and research of new and existing Healthcare loans. Work closely with Bank associates and partners to resolve risk issues, communicating review schedule and potential changes in the Healthcare portfolio. Assist in coordinating review and renewal schedules for existing credits, facilitating ongoing risk identification and management. May assist in the development of strategies to manage risk within the credit portfolio. Source, compile, and interpret financial data to support structuring and approval of loans. Review industry information and comparisons, key risks and mitigants, and collaterals to form a general business overview of the borrower. Utilize results of analysis to underwrite complex loans. Assist in identifying cross-sales opportunities for new and existing relationships based on analysis activities. Identify servicing information and prepare credit analysis documentation. Partner with associates and customers to determine needs and structuring of new requests, participating in customer and prospect calls as needed. Assist management with peer development and training. Qualifications Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Finance, Economics, or a related field plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience as a Research Analyst or related occupation. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master's degree in Business, Analytics, Finance, Economics, or a related field plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience as a Research Analyst or related occupation. Requires expertise in commercial lending or credit analysis. Requires experience with financial statement spreading, preparation of projections, and trailing twelve month analysis. Requires advanced business analytical skills. Requires advanced researching skills such as: evaluating industry trends and competitive dynamics; performing macroeconomic analysis; conducting interviews with management; analyzing credit reports, public filings and news sources; and leveraging alternate data for comprehensive credit research. Employer will accept a 3- or 4-year Bachelor's degree. This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office. The base pay for this position is generally between $176,571 and $238,030 per year. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
