ASN Constructors is a joint venture of three international contractors (Acciona, Shikun & Binui and North American Construction Group) who work with the Metro Flood Diversion Authority and other area stakeholders to build a historic project that will protect the citizens of the Fargo-Moorhead area from flood waters from the Red River. The Document Controller is responsible for managing and maintaining all project documentation related Handover process of Interim Completions and Substantial Completion, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely submission. This includes tracking, organizing, and distributing documents, as well as assisting with the preparation and review of certification-related materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with a Document Management System which will be used to register, organize, maintain, issue, and distribute the project plans, documentation, drawings, and records.
  • Track, issue, distribute and manage Requests for Information, Change notifications, Deviations, etc.
  • Receive, register, organize, and maintain project documentation relating to design, quality, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations.
  • Adhere to the project document numbering system, document templates, processes, procedures and workflows.
  • Update document templates as needed.
  • Ensure that documents are authorized, issued, and distributed correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Support the project's paper-based systems for the storage, distribution, and retrieval of documentation and records.
  • Liaise with document originators and/or designers to ensure accuracy and to resolve discrepancies relating to the Document Management System.
  • Administrative support to document control team when necessary.
  • Weekly and monthly report coordination.
Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to demonstrate computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications and an engineering or construction-oriented Document Management System.
  • Familiarity with U.S. certification and billing standards (e.g., AIA G702/G703) and payment certificates.
  • Ability to collect, organize, and format data and technical documents to meet U.S. employer documentation requirements.
  • Skilled in document management systems such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate within an international project team environment
  • Familiarity with U.S. certification and billing standards (e.g., AIA G702/G703) and payment certificates.
  • Ability to collect, organize, and format data and technical documents to meet U.S. employer documentation requirements.
  • Skilled in document management systems such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in document control within large-scale construction projects.
  • Proven experience using Aconex is essential.

Work Environment:

  • This position is primarily indoors.
  • This work environment may involve minimal exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.
