This type of appointment is not approved to work more than 999 hours per year for all positions combined. Should incumbents work more than a total of 999 hours in a year the appointment may not continue beyond one year of service.
Accountabilities
The Residential Life Fellow position is designed to address a critical need in cultivating a vibrant, inclusive, and student-centered social life on campus, particularly during nights and weekends. At its core, the position exists to ensure that students have meaningful, engaging opportunities to connect outside the classroom in ways that foster community, joy, and belonging. By leveraging their understanding of student interests and social dynamics, the Residential Life Fellow will play a key role in enhancing late-night programming and revitalizing campus social spaces like Donovan's Pub. Through close collaboration with student organizations, campus offices, and dining services, the Fellow will not only plan and execute diverse events but also mentor student leaders and promote a culture of participation and fun. This role is central to Colgate's commitment to creating a well-rounded student experience and supporting students' social well-being throughout their undergraduate journey.
Requirements


Professional Experience/ Qualifications

  • Previous experience working as an undergraduate student in residential life or student programming.
  • A current valid driver's license, in accordance with the University's Driver Safety and Motor Vehicle Use Policy is required.
  • Candidates must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and be capable of creating and maintaining productive and collegial working relationships with a diverse group of faculty, staff, students, and visitors.

Preferred Qualifications
Colgate degree and/or experience preferred and will receive first consideration.

A car is helpful, although not required.
Education
Bachelor's degree required.

This is a part-time, 10-month, live-in position.

Position begins August 4th, 2025 and concludes no later than May 20th, 2026.

As this is a live-in position, housing (a room with a private ensuite bathroom in one of the residence halls with access to a communal kitchen) and a partial meal plan are provided.
