Salary range:
The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and if applicable, rank and/or step. The base pay range for this position is $90,700 - $238,300. Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. Position description

The Department of Psychiatry within the School of Medicine at UC San Diego (https://psychiatry.ucsd.edu/) is committed to academic excellence within the faculty, staff, and student body. UC San Diego Psychiatry faculty provide exceptional clinical care, conduct cutting-edge research, and deliver educational excellence.

We are seeking outstanding applicants for non-tenured/non-tenure-track faculty positions in General, Geriatric, Child & Adolescent, and Subspecialty Psychiatry. Candidates should have interests as clinician-educators or clinician-scholars.

The selected candidates' clinical focus will align with one or more areas of clinical expertise in the department, including but not limited to board specialization in: general adult, geriatric, child and adolescent, consult-liaison, and addiction psychiatry. Additional specialty areas may include eating disorders, community or public-sector psychiatry, college mental health, women's mental health, neuromodulation, and post-traumatic stress. Clinical responsibilities may span a range of settings, including inpatient and outpatient care, as well as intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs.

The selected candidates will also:

(1) Teach, which may include lecturing and mentoring in our various educational programs (see https://psychiatry.ucsd.edu/education-training/index.html).

(2) Have an interest in clinical scholarship and/or conducting research.

(3) Embrace a culture of excellence and innovation across the UC San Diego tripartite mission.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's background and experience.

As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Candidates must have an MD, DO, PsyD, PhD, or equivalent in the areas of neuropsychiatric disorders.

Candidates with an MD, DO, or equivalent must be board eligible or board certified in general adult, geriatric, child and adolescent, consult-liaison, or addiction psychiatry.

Candidates with an MD, DO, or equivalent who are applying for a position with clinical responsibilities must have, or be eligible for, a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board, and must maintain or be eligible to obtain an unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) number to practice in the U.S.

Candidates with a PsyD, PhD, or equivalent who are applying for a position with clinical responsibilities must have graduated from an APA-accredited doctoral program which includes completion of an APA-accredited internship, and must have or be eligible for a license from the California Board of Psychology.
