GENERAL PURPOSE

This Distributor Account Manager is responsible for managing the largest national distributors, IT, DMR, and box sellers. This role will manage a team that drives sales revenue through uncovering and developing opportunities directly through our manufacturers that resell our products. This position will require Manufacturer partner relationship management, sales experience, including the ability to collaborate sales efforts with key manufacturer partners. The role requires an understanding of AV application to include all Legrand AV brands and technologies. The position will place emphasis on building long-term relationships, identification and leverage of new opportunities and emerging trends which include all Legrand AVD brands.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify opportunities within distributors at the headquarter / parent level

  • Create plans (involving distributors as appropriate - e.g., QBR Meetings) to execute against strategy

  • Strong understanding of areas such as inventory management and program utilization as it relates to managing profitability

  • Train and develop distributors, DMR and box sellers. Manage account performance with BDM to drive for brand awareness

  • Coordinate additional Legrand AV support resources (e.g., Technical Support, Customer Support, etc.)

  • Co-sell with distributors as appropriate (expected to be minimal)

  • Actively working to penetrate and grow business; confer with customers regarding product needs and advise customers on types of products to purchase.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer information in Salesforce.com

  • Effectively present (strategic account) information to executive management team.

  • Effectively manages current National DMR account relationships

  • Advise dealers and distributors on policies and operating procedures to ensure functional effectiveness of business.

  • Confer or consult with department heads to plan advertising services, secure information on products and customer required specifications

  • Understand and manage inventory levels provide new recommendations and implement new product adoption

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Skills and Competencies:

  • Relationship Building: Engages and establishes trust/credibility with key stakeholders across distributor organization

  • Account Coordination: Understands distributor maturity, thinking strategically about tactical account planning

  • Problem Solving: Able to address problems and coordinate appropriate resources

  • Ability to interpret standards, specifications, procedures, drawings, etc.

  • Demonstrated ability to be customer focused and responsive to questions and needs

  • Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with company standards, practices and policies

  • Ability to multi-task and manage several projects through completion at one time while maintain high attention to detail

  • Must possess high degree of professionalism and ability to handle confidential information

  • Possesses a baseline of product acumen for brands; Chief, MAP, Da-Lite, Vaddio, Luxul, C2G, Sanus

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or other related technical degree with 3-5 years sales experience or any appropriate combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with specific geographical-based markets in which the position resides

  • Experience using SalesForce.com

  • Previous work experience in areas relevant to the assigned technology

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required (for the majority of the working day) to sit and make coordinated movements of the fingers for data entry on a keyboard.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

  • General (home) office and field sales environment

  • Requires regular ground travel to other company facilities

  • Long-distance or air travel as needed - 50-75%
