Payroll Associate

Our client, a professional services firm in the financial sector, is looking for a Payroll Associate to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in payroll processing to contribute to a well-established firm that values collaboration and process improvement. The successful candidate will have the chance to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring compliance and payroll accuracy for both corporate and client entities. This position is hybrid, requiring candidates to be in the San Francisco office three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).

Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly and off-cycle payroll for 200+ employees across multiple entities with unique compensation and benefits.

  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing while meeting strict deadlines.

  • Manage special pay components and deductions, including bonuses, relocation, termination, and other supplemental wages.

  • Approve and validate payroll liability calculations, including employee and employer taxes and contributions.

  • Oversee payroll tax filing and coordinate with tax agencies for compliance.

  • Support audits, including 401k and workers compensation audits.

  • Identify and implement process and system enhancements within ADP Workforce Now.

  • Collaborate with HR and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless payroll operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi-state environment.

  • Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now required.

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across various teams including HR, Accounting, and Benefits.

Compensation:
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure: $120K - $145Kper year. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
