Position Summary:

Works under the supervision of the Program Director Patient Experience, this role is responsible for data analytics and additional support of performance measures, ongoing measurement, data collection, reporting, data visualizations and information dissemination for patient, family, volunteer, patient and family advisory council (PFAC), and patient relations data sources across JHM. Responsible for structuring the strategic design and maintenance of business intelligence applications. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems related to the patient experience survey program, patient relations database (RL Solution), Volunteer service platform (VSys), and day-to-day relationships with the vendors. Ensures that the use of business intelligence applications enhances clinical & business decision-making capabilities. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature, supporting entity and system patient relations and patient experience leads. Engages in data exploration exercises with a variety of complex business intelligence tools, requiring knowledge of relational database structures. Specifically, this role will often be leading impact analyses to determine which and how specific interventions are or are not having a statistically significant impact on patients. Collaborates with other analytic teams and the central engineering team as directed, particularly patient safety, quality and finance, in order to better inform stakeholders on the value that improvement increases reimbursement

Education:

A Bachelor's Degree is required.

Required Licensure Certification, etc.

EDW internal certification is required within 12 months.

Work Experience:

Requires a minimum 4-7 years of related experience in healthcare, including a minimum of 3 years of data analytics experience. Ideally, familiarity with CAHPS administration requirements.

Knowledge:




  • Knowledge of project and information management.
  • Analytical ability required to gather data, perform transformation, perform complex analysis, solve both business and technical problems.
  • Advanced knowledge of medical terminology and clinical informatics.
  • Expert proficiency with business intelligence techniques & tools for the acquisition and transformation of raw data into meaningful and useful information for business and analysis purposes.
  • Knowledge of relational databases and EMR data structure.
  • Advanced ability to problem-solve creatively and analyze processes and systems.
  • Ability to triage and advise internal clinical leaders on pathways available to seeking patient and family feedback including formal surveying, and use of virtual advisors.
  • A Patient Experience Analyst should have an understanding of statistical methods for data analysis, EHR systems, and patient experience survey vendors' platforms (like Press Ganey, NRC, or Qualtrics).
  • They also need to be familiar with data privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA) and healthcare databases.



Skills:




  • Must possess written and verbal communication skills necessary to gather and exchange data (both internally and externally) with members of the health care team.
  • Ability to independently assess which data management and statistical strategies are needed to optimally report outcomes.
  • Highly proficient with administrative skills, including advanced use of word processing, database, spreadsheet and desktop publishing software.
  • Demonstrated mastery of all areas identified in the Competencies and Dimensions section.
  • Ability to analyze complex data sets. Data mining/management, data collection instruction, including ability to show data in a user-friendly format for a variety of audiences.
  • Work requires good analytical and advanced problem-solving ability to assess, prioritize and solve highly complex clinical and systems problems.
  • Strong problem identification and resolution skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills required to work with a diverse group of people.
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously and quickly switch between priorities/tasks.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff and adapt to a rapidly changing work environment.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to apply them in various situations.
  • Ability and willingness to mentor colleagues and share experiences to strengthen the team's success.
  • Ability to seek feedback from entity leaders in order to make system level patient experience dashboards user friendly and enabling quick business decisions without additional analysis.
  • The analyst must be proficient in SQL for querying databases, and data visualization using tools like Tableau or Power BI.
  • They should have the ability to clean and transform data and may benefit from programming skills in Python or R for advanced analysis.
  • Although not required, knowledge of data analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, R, SAS) is preferred.


Salary Range: Minimum 37.14/hour - Maximum 65.01/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
