Responsibilities

Palm Shores is currently hiring an experienced RBT or MHT to join our Clinical Department as a Behavior Analyst Technician.

Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center provides quality mental health care and education services for adolescents, ages 11-17 who are experiencing behavioral, emotional, educational, family and social challenges. The dedicated professionals at Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center provide quality mental health treatment for children. The program establishes healthy behaviors and prepares children to transition back home.

Behavior Analyst Technician provides 1:1 behavioral intervention services to patients with mental/behavioral health needs and supports the facility treatment teams. The Behavior Technician is responsible for implementing Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) based programs as directed by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) including instructing patients and facility personnel. Responsible for implementation of skill acquisition and behavior reduction plans developed through working directly with patients in a one on one or group setting.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree in psychology or related field preferred.
  • Two (2) years' experience as MHT or RBT.
  • Minimum of two (2) years in a psychiatric setting with children and adolescents. Mental health professional with knowledge in behavior management
  • RBT preferred or within 90 days completes a BCBA approved RBT course and keeps registration to the BCBA current.
  • Working knowledge of behavior management and those on the Autism spectrum disorder.
  • Effective oral, written, and listening communication skills; computer skills. Microsoft Office products/ability to use Excel to track data, Word, Outlook
  • Physical Demands - Working with patients in their natural environments may require you to lift or move approximately 50 lbs. and be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, sitting, and standing) for extended periods. Fully participate with a team to safely restrain or seclude patients as necessary. Must be able to participate in and complete Handle With Care Training on an annual basis.
  • Background: Must be able to pass a Level 2 Background Screening and Pre-employment Drug Test.
